Embossing and Tipping

Embossing refers to the process by which raised letters and/or numbers are imprinted on your cards. The embossing step occurs after all printing is completed. Most companies choose to add "tipping" to their embossed characters so that they stand our more.

Tipping refers to the application of a (typically) metallic paint to the embossed characters on a card. Typical colors for tipping include gold, silver, and black. Other colors are available.

 

In typical card applications, membership/account numbers along with member name and join/expiration date are embossed on the card front. Spectrum Card can provide both embossing and tipping for your cards.
